The Tianjin Municipal Commission for Market Regulation is a newly established government institution as a result of the institutional reform in Tianjin. The Commission integrates the responsibilities of the former Tianjin Municipal Commission for Market and Quality Supervision (Office of the Municipal Food Safety Committee), the price supervision and anti-monopoly enforcement responsibilities from the Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and the anti-monopoly enforcement responsibilities regarding business concentration from the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Commerce. The newly formed Commission serves as a component department of the Tianjin Municipal Government.
