About
The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), also known as Yizhuang Development Area or E-Town, is located in the southeast of Beijing Municipality. It covers key areas including the entire Ronghua and Boxing sub-districts in Daxing District, parts of Yizhuang, Yinghai, and other regions in Daxing District, as well as some areas in Taihu Town and Majiqiao Town in Tongzhou District. The area is adjacent to the South Fifth Ring Road and the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway. As one of China's national-level economic and technological development zones, it functions as a quasi-district-level administrative unit. The Beijing Municipal People's Government has delegated its administrative authority over the approximately 60-square-kilometer development zone to the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Management Committee, which exercises the powers typically held by a district-level government within the planning scope of the economic zone.
