The Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) is an official agency established under the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 (IC Act 2019) and officially commenced operations on July 1, 2020. AICIS replaced the former National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS) and is responsible for regulating the importation and manufacture (collectively referred to as introduction) of industrial chemicals in Australia.
