This Provisions specifies the materials, modifiable ingredient lists, migration limits, types of dyes and pigments, etc., for the manufacture of plastic containers and equipment in contact with food, food raw materials, mineral water, and drinking water, including coatings and accessories, as well as household packaging and equipment made of plastic materials or lined with plastic materials, excluding fixed water supply equipment for public or private use.

(South America) General Provisions for Plastic Containers and Equipment in Contact with Food

This amendment revises the General Provisions for Plastic Containers and Equipment in Contact with Food (Mercosur GMC RES. No. 56/92). The amendment includes: 1) the paragraph 5 of the annex concerning overall migration limit requirements, and 2) the paragraph 7 concerning the coloring of plastic containers and equipment in contact with food, allowing all dyes and pigments complying with specific technical regulations in the Mercosur.
