This update involves Article 14, Annex 2, and Annex 10. This ordinance specifies the regulations for materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs in Switzerland, including definitions, labeling, quality assurance, materials and articles made of metal or metal alloys, plastic materials and articles, recycled plastic materials and articles, regenerated cellulose film materials and articles, ceramics, glass, enamel or other similar materials, materials and articles made of paper or cardboard, paraffin, wax, and dyes, silicone materials and articles, packaging inks, active or intelligent materials and articles, varnishes, and coatings. Materials that merge with foodstuffs such as cheese, meat products, delicatessen products, or fruits and may be consumed are not considered materials and articles. Materials in contact with drinking water must comply with the requirements specified in the Federal Department of Home Affairs ordinance on drinking water and water for publicly accessible bathing and shower facilities of December 16, 2016.
