This regulation amends European Commission Regulations (EU) No 10/2011, (EU) 2022/1616, and (EC) 2023/2006. The amendments to Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 include adjustments to terminology and definitions, refinement of substance usage provisions, supplementation of material and product requirements, and revisions related to testing and compliance. The amendments to Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 specify that certain chapters of Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 apply to recycled plastic materials and articles, and establish quality and purity requirements for substances input and output during the purification process. Amendments to Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 include enhancing quality assurance system requirements for recycling facilities and introducing provisions for quality assessment stages in the recycling process; standardizing plastic reprocessing processes, including waste collection, storage, transportation, and prevention of cross-contamination. This regulation applies to plastic materials, recycled plastic materials, and articles intended to come into contact with food.
