Main Content
This standard specifies the method for determining and quantifying the migration amount of 19 phthalate compounds in food contact materials and products. The phthalate compounds include dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-n-propyl phthalate (DAP), di-isobutyl phthalate (DIBP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), di-methoxyethyl phthalate (DMEP), di-n-butyl-n-pentyl phthalate (BMPP), di-2-ethoxyethyl phthalate (DEEP), di-n-propyl phthalate (DPP), di-hexyl phthalate (DHXP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), di-n-butyl ethyl phthalate (DBEP), di-cyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), di-phenyl phthalate (DPhP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP), di-n-nonyl phthalate (DNP), di-isononyl phthalate (DINP-1), di-iso-nonyl phthalate (DINP-2), di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP-1), and di-iso-decyl phthalate (DIDP-2). The first part of this standard, the determination of phthalate compounds, is applicable for the measurement of these 19 phthalate compounds in plastic, rubber, coatings, adhesives, and other food contact materials and products. The second part, the determination of phthalate compound migration, is applicable for measuring the migration amount of these 19 phthalate compounds in food contact materials and products.
