Main Content:
This resolution incorporates MERCOSUR Resolution No. 32/10 into Brazil's national legal framework. The regulation aims to govern the migration issues of plastic materials, packaging, and equipment in contact with food, setting standards for overall and specific migration while specifying the corresponding testing conditions and requirements. It applies to plastic materials, packaging, and equipment in contact with food, including:
a) Materials composed solely of plastics;
b) Multilayer materials where each layer is solely made of plastics;
c) Multilayer materials where one or more layers may not be solely plastics, provided that the layer in contact with food is plastic or a polymer coating. In such cases, all plastic layers or polymer coatings must comply with MERCOSUR's resolutions on plastic materials, packaging, and equipment concerning migration and substances included in the positive list.
