Determination of Key Chemicals in Consumer Products—Part 8: Perfluorooctane Sulfonates (PFOS) and Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) This document describes the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for determining perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in consumer products. It is applicable to consumer products containing the following materials (excluding apparel, textiles, leather, coatings, electronics, food contact materials, and products): Rubber; Plastics; Paper materials; Liquids and similar viscous materials (including adhesives, cleaners, foam fire extinguishers). Other materials in consumer products can be tested in accordance with this document after validation.
