This notification stipulates the handling methods for chemical substances containing Class I Specified Chemical Substances as impurities in Japan. It specifies that if a Class I Specified Chemical Substance exists as a by-product or as an impurity in non-by-products and is managed using Best Available Techniques (BAT), it may not be treated as a Class I Specified Chemical Substance regulated under the Japanese Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL). It is applicable to activities related to the management and information communication of chemical substances containing Class I Specified Chemical Substances as impurities in Japan.
