On May 5, 2023, Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) issued the Notice on Soliciting Public Opinions on the Technical Specification for Nomenclature of Chemicals for Environmental Management (Draft for Comments). This Technical Specification is compiled to standardize nomenclature chemicals for environmental management, and to regulate the environmental management registration of new chemical substances and the management of Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC), and the environmental risk assessment and control of chemicals. In accordance with the requirements of national ecological and environmental standards, MEE hereby seeks public comments and details of the Technical Specification may be obtained from here China MEE.

All units, organizations, enterprises, institutions and individuals are welcomed to put forward their opinions and suggestions according to the feedback suggestion format in the following annexes. Please send your written suggestions to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment before June 25, 2023, or send e-mail to chem@mee.gov.cn.

The Technical Standard, which regulates the nomenclature of chemical substances for environmental management, has been released for the first time. It is applicable to the environmental management registration of new chemical substances, the management of IECSC, and the environmental risk assessment and regulation of chemical substances. Details can be obtained in the annexes below.
