Announcement on Adjusting the Declaration Requirements for Import and Export Goods Declaration was Issued

On March 14, 2024, the General Administration of Customs issued the Announcement on adjusting the declaration requirements for import and Export goods declaration (Announcement No. 30 of the General Administration of Customs (2024)) (hereinafter referred to as the "Announcement"), which came into effect on April 10, 2024. The Announcement adjusted the declaration requirements for goods during their import and export, including the declaration requirements for "gross weight (kilograms)", "net weight (kilograms)", and the adjustment of the name of the declaration items, and applies to the declaration activities of importers and exporters. The specific content of the announcement is as follows:

In order to further standardize the declaration behavior of importers and exporters of goods, and simplify related declaration columns, the General Administration of Customs decided to adjust the columns and some declaration items and filling requirements of the "Import and Export Goods Declaration Form of the People's Republic of China" and the "Declaration List of Goods Entering/Leaving the Customs Territory of the People's Republic of China" as follows:

1. Modify Article 25 and Article 26 of the Declaration Specifications for Import and Export Goods of the General Administration of Customs (2019) (Announcement No. 18 of the General Administration of Customs released in 2019).

The filling requirements of Article 25 "gross weight (kg)" shall be "the sum of the weights of the imported and exported goods and their packaging materials, the unit of measurement is kg, and the filling of less than one kilogram is' 1 '." It is amended to "Fill in the sum of the weights of the imported and exported goods and their packaging materials, the unit of measurement is kg, less than 1 kg accurate to 2 decimal places."
