Ministry of Ecology and Environment Releases ''Framework of Technical Standards for Environmental Risk Assessment and Control of Chemical Substances (Draft for Comments)''

To implement the "Action Plan for the Control of New Pollutants" and establish a comprehensive system of technical standards for the environmental risk assessment and control of chemical substances, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has organized the compilation of the "Framework of Technical Standards for Environmental Risk Assessment and Control of Chemical Substances (Draft for Comments)", which was publicly solicited for comments on July 5, 2024. The deadline for submitting comments is August 9, 2024.

This framework (draft for comments) stipulates the overall framework, sub-systems for environmental risk screening technical standards, environmental risk assessment technical standards, and environmental risk control technical standards. Among them, the environmental risk control technical standards sub-system is further divided into source prohibition and restriction, process emission reduction, and end-of-pipe treatment categories. It is applicable to activities related to the establishment and improvement of the technical standards system for environmental risk assessment and control of chemical substances.
