China Issued GB 30000.1-2024 Specification for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals—Part 1：General Rules

On July 24, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China issued the National Standard Announcement (No. 16 of 2024), which includes the "Specification for classification and labelling of chemicals—Part 1：General rules" (GB 30000.1-2024). The release of this standard marks a significant update and change in the GB 30000 series of standards within China's Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).

The announcement indicates that the "Specification for classification and labelling of chemicals—Part 1：General rules" (GB 30000.1-2024) will be implemented starting August 1, 2025, at which time it will replace the "General rule for classification and hazard communication of chemicals" (GB 13690-2009).
