As a party to the Minamata Convention on Mercury, Singapore is committed to protecting human health and the environment from anthropogenic emissions and releases of mercury and its compounds. The National Environment Agency (NEA) is responsible for the strict control of mercury-added products listed in the convention, ensuring that the nation fulfills its international obligations. The National Environment Agency (NEA) is seeking feedback on the proposed control of 6 mercury-added products as hazardous substances under the Second Schedule of the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA).This consultation begins from August 19, 2024 to September 19, 2024.
