Update the UK Mandatory Classification and Labelling List of Chemicals (GB MCL) to the fifth edition-Oct 9,2024

Time: Oct 9, 2024
Fifth edition. Updated to give legal effect to 88 substances from the 14th and 15th EU Adaptations to Technical Progress (EU ATPs) that were not retained in GB law, at the end of the Implementation Period on 31 December 2020. A consolidated Ministerial Decision has been published in the HSE GB CLP publication table confirming the GB MCLs for 88 substances and the entry into force date and compliance dates of 26 June 2024.
This update also removes two substances (titanium dioxide (in powder form) and granulated copper) from the GB MCL list, following the identification of additional information that requires assessment under the Article 37A process.
This update also corrected a number of reported errors in the GB MCL list (e.g., editorial issues, typos and transcription errors). In addition, the following changes were made:
  • Entry amended: Index no: 612-296-00-4 N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine EC 202-805-4 CAS 99-97-8 (‘dusts or’ added to inhalation ATE)
  • Entry added: Index no: 601-097-00-8 propylbenzene EC 203-132-9 CAS 103-65-1 (entry restored)
