On November 4, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) released seven new testing proposals for substances, inviting public feedback until December 19, 2024.

This initiative is part of a transparent process to assess whether registered chemicals require further testing under the REACH regulations. Registrants must submit a testing proposal for chemicals with annual volumes of 100 to over 1000 tonnes, as specified in Annex IX and X. Following the public consultation, ECHA will determine the necessary tests based on the feedback and the substances' characteristics. Registrants are then required to conduct these tests and update their safety data, ensuring chemical safety and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
