The Chemical Registration Platform of the Chemical Substance Management Administration under the Ministry of Environment in the Taiwan region of China will officially launch the online application function for deactivating (canceling) registration codes on September 1, 2025. After the launch of this function, registrants will no longer need to submit applications via mailed paper documents to the competent authority, thereby streamlining the workflow. The application and approval processes will become more convenient, enhancing the overall administrative efficiency of chemical management in Taiwan.
Scope of Application
Applications for deactivating (canceling) registration codes can be submitted online via the registration platform under any of the following circumstances:
- Cessation of manufacture or import;
- Inapplicability of the registration regulations;
- Reapplication for approval under a new chemical substance registration category.
Implementation Timeline
A transition period will be in place from September 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, during which both online and paper-based application methods will be accepted. Starting from January 1, 2026, applications for the aforementioned three circumstances must be submitted through the online platform in principle, and paper-based applications will no longer be accepted.
Application Method
Registrants/agents can log in to the platform (https://tcscachemreg.moenv.gov.tw) and navigate to the Deactivate (Cancel) Registration Code module to submit applications online. Different operational requirements apply depending on whether the registration code was completed by the registrant independently or with the assistance of an agent.
Important Notes
Once a registration code is approved for deactivation (cancellation), it cannot be restored. Please ensure all details are confirmed before submitting an application. If the application for deactivation (cancellation) includes registration codes completed with the assistance of agents, the application will only proceed to review after all agents have completed the confirmation process.
For applications to deactivate (cancel) registration codes, the default period for supplementary documentation is 30 working days. If the documentation is not completed within the specified period, the application will automatically become invalid. If there is still a need to apply, a new application must be submitted.
Additionally, applications for deactivation (cancellation) that do not fall under the above circumstances must still be submitted via paper-based documents. For specific requirements and procedures, please consult the Chemical Substance Management Administration.
