EU PBT Assessment List is Available-Sep 18,2025

Time: Sep 18, 2025

The EU PBT Assessment List is an official database maintained by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). It is designed to monitor and publicly list chemical substances that are under evaluation or for which the evaluation has been completed regarding their PBT/vPvB properties, in accordance with the EU Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

  • PBT substances: Refer to chemical substances that are Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic. Such substances are difficult to degrade in the environment, accumulate in living organisms, and have harmful effects on organisms or ecosystems.
  • vPvB substances: Refer to chemical substances that are very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative. Even if direct toxicity data may be insufficient, their very high potential for accumulation is also considered to pose a serious threat to the environment and health.
