On October 22, 2025, the DCPC issued the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Second Amendment Order, 2025. This order further amends the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2024, postponing its implementation date until April 24, 2026.

Once this Quality Control Order comes into effect, manufacturers of the relevant chemicals must apply for a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and use the Standard Mark on their products. It is important to note that these orders are not applicable to chemicals meant exclusively for export. All concerned manufacturers must comply with these new regulations, and any violation will be subject to legal punishment under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
