Update to the China-National Food Safety Standard for Use of Additives for Food Contact Materials and Products (GB 9685-2016) - 3 New Substances Added-Nov 28,2025

On November 27, 2025, the Department of Food Safety Standard and Risk Assessment of the National Health Commission of China issued an announcement on 14 “three-new foods”, including 3 new food raw materials such as Mycoprotein from Fusarium venenatum, 8 new varieties of food additives such as branching enzyme, and 3 new varieties of food-related products such as C.I. Pigment White 21 (barium sulfate).

Three of these food contact materials have now been included in the list of the "China-National Food Safety Standard for Use of Additives for Food Contact Materials and Products (GB 9685-2016)."
