On April 23, 2026, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment issued a notice, announcing a new food-related product that has passed the technical review by the Expert Review Committee: polymer of methacrylic acid, n-butyl acrylate, cyclohexyl methacrylate, methyl methacrylate, glycidyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate and allyl methacrylate. Public comments on this new product are invited, with the comment deadline set on May 23, 2026.
This type of food contact material has now been included in the list of the "China-National Food Safety Standard for Use of Additives for Food Contact Materials and Products (GB 9685-2016)" for reference.
