Pursuant to Announcement No. 2026-6 of the Korea Chemicals Management Association (KCMA), certain provisions of the Regulations on Classification and Labeling of Chemical Substances are hereby amended. This amendment is enacted in accordance with the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH) and its Enforcement Rule, as well as the Chemical Substances Control Act and its Enforcement Rule, with the objective of further refining the classification and labeling system for chemical substances and enhancing the safety management thereof.
The amendment updates Annex 4 (Substances Harmful to Human Health, etc.) of the Regulations on Classification and Labeling of Chemical Substances, with the following principal contents:

Amendment of chemical substances with the following unique identification numbers: 97-1-3, 97-1-79, 97-1-381, 97-1-417, and 2014-1-717;

Addition of seventy-four (74) new chemical substances, numbered 2026-1-1281 through 2026-1-1354, immediately following the substance with unique identification number 2025-1-1280.
Transitional Measures: Enterprises required to label hazardous chemical substances in accordance with this Announcement shall complete such labeling pursuant to Article 16 of the Chemical Substances Control Act no later than January 1, 2027. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the transitional period for sodium hypochlorite (unique identification number 2026-1-1354) is extended to July 1, 2028.
