On 4 September 2026, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) released a notice announcing novel food‑related products that have passed the technical review by the Expert Review Committee, namely Zinc oxide; Hydrogenated dimerized C18 unsaturated fatty acids, polymer with hexamethylenediamine; Isophthalic acid, polymer with terephthalic acid, 2‑methyl‑1,3‑propanediol, diethyleneglycol, trimethylolpropane and fatty acids, C18‑unsaturated, dimers, non‑hydrogenated. Public consultation is open for these substances, with comments due by 6 October 2026. This type of food contact material has now been included in the list of the "China-National Food Safety Standard for Use of Additives for Food Contact Materials and Products (GB 9685-2016)" for reference.
