Norwegian Limit Values for Pollutants in the Workplace Air are established by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet) pursuant to the Working Environment Act. The regulations set action values and limit values, covering the 8-hour time-weighted average permissible concentration (TWA) and 15-minute short-term exposure limit (STEL) for hundreds of chemical substances, and indicate skin absorption markings (such as H, E, AK, KR), irritant markings, and carcinogen classifications. Employers must ensure that workplace exposure does not exceed the statutory limit values and implement regular workplace environmental monitoring.
