South Africa Occupational Exposure Restricted Limits for Hazardous Chemical Agents
South Africa Occupational Exposure Restricted Limits for Hazardous Chemical Agents is established by the South African Department of Labour under the Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulations, 2021 (RHCA 2021). It covers recommended occupational exposure limits for hundreds of chemicals and is a limit set purely on health-based considerations, below which long-term exposure is not expected to cause adverse health effects in workers, and is therefore considered more protective. If exposure exceeds the OEL-RL, the cause must be identified promptly and effective measures taken to reduce exposure.
