South Africa Occupational Exposure Maximum Limits for Hazardous Chemical Agents
South Africa Occupational Exposure Maximum Limits for Hazardous Chemical Agents is established by the South African Department of Labour under the Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulations, 2021 (RHCA 2021). It constitutes a legally binding maximum permissible concentration that must not be exceeded under any circumstances. It applies to known carcinogens and to substances for which no threshold can be established; employers must take all reasonably practicable preventive measures to ensure that exposure always remains below the prescribed limit.
