U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Standards-Air contaminants-Limits for Air Contaminants
Introduction of GCIS
U.S. Air contaminants(29CFR 1910.1000)-Table Z-1 Limits for Air Contaminants is promulgated by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and constitutes a core component of the general industry air contaminant standards. Table Z-1 covers a wide range of industrial chemicals, including toxic gases, vapors, fumes, and particulates. It establishes 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) exposure limits, with some substances also marked with Ceiling (C) limits. This table represents the legally enforceable PEL standards established by the US; employers must ensure worker exposure complies with statutory requirements through engineering controls and monitoring.
