U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Standards-Air contaminants-High-Risk Substance Limits
Introduction of GCIS
U.S. Air contaminants(29CFR 1910.1000)-Table Z-2 is formulated by the US OSHA to set strict exposure control requirements for substances with special toxicological characteristics. In addition to 8-hour TWA limits, this table specifies acceptable maximum concentrations and the maximum peak concentrations allowed within an 8-hour shift along with their durations. Applicable to high-risk substances such as toluene, hydrogen sulfide, and formaldehyde, it ensures that exposure at any point in time does not exceed legal concentration limits, serving as a critical enforcement basis for US occupational health regulation.
