Korean Occupational Exposure Limits for Chemical Substances
Introduction of GCIS
Korean Occupational Exposure Limits for Chemical Substances originates from the Korean Industrial Safety and Health Act(K-OSHA), which is the foundational law in the field of occupational safety and health in Korea. It stipulates the permissible exposure levels for hazardous factors in the workplace. The Act explicitly requires employers to maintain chemical concentrations in the workplace below the permissible exposure limits (PELs). For substances exceeding these limits, comprehensive measures such as engineering controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), and health surveillance must be implemented to minimize occupational hazards.
