In accordance with CSCL, the designation of substances as priority evaluation chemical substances has been canceled. These substances are jointly regulated and released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE).
► In accordance with CSCL, chemical substances designated as priority assessment chemical substances are classified as Class I specified chemical substances, Class II specified chemical substances, monitoring chemical substances and general chemical substances. Manufacturers/importers shall submit related materials based on the corresponding inventory of chemical substances. For example, when (canceled) priority assessment chemical substances are classified as general chemical substances, annual reports shall be submitted each year before June 30 if its annual production/import volume is or above 1t. The deadline of submission is on July 31.
► Chemical substances that are not designated as (canceled) priority assessment chemical substances are not subject to related obligations.

- Manufacturing or importing priority assessment chemicals for testing and research purpose.
- Substances specified in the following regulations: ①food, food additives, containers and utensil, toys and detergents under the Food Sanitation Act; ②pesticides in the Pesticide Control Law; ③fertilizers in the Fertilizer Control Act; ④feed and feed additives under the Feeds Safety Act; ⑤pharmaceutical, cosmetics and medical devices under the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act.
