World Resources Institute (WRI)

The World Resources Institute (WRI) is a global environmental and development think tank that conducts research activities focused on the co-development of the environment and socioeconomics. WRI translates research findings into practical actions by collaborating with governments, businesses, and civil society around the world to provide innovative solutions for protecting the planet and improving livelihoods. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., WRI has expanded its global presence with offices in multiple countries, including China, Brazil, India, and Indonesia. In 2008, WRI established its first overseas office in Beijing, China, marking the beginning of its strategic global expansion.
