Ministry of Finance, People's Republic of China

The Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China is a component department of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, operating at the ministerial level. Its predecessor was the Ministry of Finance of the Central People's Government, established on October 1, 1949. In March 2018, in accordance with the institutional reform plan of the State Council approved by the first session of the 13th National People's Congress, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance related to the management of agricultural investment projects were integrated into the newly established Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Additionally, the supervisory and inspection responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance regarding the implementation of the central budget and other fiscal revenue and expenditure were transferred to the National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China.
