State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People's Republic of China，SAIC

The State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People's Republic of China (SAIC), commonly referred to as the National Administration for Industry and Commerce, was a direct subordinate institution of the State Council responsible for market supervision and administration as well as relevant law enforcement in accordance with laws and regulations. In March 2018, in accordance with the institutional reform plan of the State Council approved by the first session of the 13th National People's Congress, the responsibilities of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce were integrated into the newly established National Administration for Market Regulation of the People's Republic of China. The trademark management responsibilities of the SAIC were also integrated to re-establish the National Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China. The State Administration for Industry and Commerce was no longer retained.
