The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is one of the principal committees under the IMO, composed of all member states. The MSC primarily focuses on matters within the organization's purview, including aids to navigation, ship construction and equipment, manning from a safety perspective, collision regulations, carriage of dangerous goods, maritime safety measures and requirements, hydrographic reporting, logbooks and voyage records, maritime accident investigation, salvage and life-saving, as well as other issues that have a direct impact on maritime safety.
