The Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) is an industry organization composed of chemical manufacturers headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. It is commonly referred to as the Japan Chemical Association. Its main activities include chemical research and the collection of information and materials. Together with the Chemical Society of Japan and the New Chemical Technology Promotion Association, JCIA sends representative students to the International Chemistry Olympiad. Its predecessor was the wartime Chemical Industry Control Association, which is analogous to organizations such as the Japan Iron and Steel Federation in the steel industry and the Petroleum Federation in the petroleum refining and wholesale industry.
