Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau

The Guangdong Provincial Department of Environmental Protection is a component of the Guangdong Provincial Government. It is responsible for implementing national and provincial environmental policies and laws, drafting local environmental regulations, setting and supervising provincial environmental standards, organizing the development of environmental zoning plans, formulating and overseeing the implementation of provincial environmental protection plans, and coordinating key regional and river basin pollution control plans. It also works with other departments on pollution control in key sea areas, participates in the formulation of the provincial functional zoning plan, and oversees and manages major environmental issues.
