This part of GB 32166 specifies the classification, basic requirements, and special requirements for occupational eye and face protectors. It is applicable to plano protective equipment or components used for occupational eye and face protection (mainly industrial protection) to ensure the safety of the eyes or face. It is not applicable to: a) Sunglasses and sunglass lenses for general use or eye and face protectors with vision correction; b) Eye and face protectors used by patients for protection during diagnosis or treatment; c) Products for direct observation of the sun, such as those used for observing solar eclipses; d) Sports eye and face protectors; e) Eye and face protectors for short circuit electric arc; f) Welding eye and face protectors; g) Laser eye and face protectors.
