Main Content
This law specifies the rights and obligations of organizations and individuals in ensuring food safety; conditions for food safety, food production, trade, import and export; food advertising and labeling; food inspection; food safety risk analysis; prevention, control, and remediation of food safety incidents; food safety information, education, and communication; and the responsibilities of the national food safety management. It specifies the food safety assurance conditions for fresh food, processed food, micronutrient-fortified food, functional food, genetically modified food, irradiated food, food additives, and food packaging tools and containers. It also states that food packaging in Vietnam must use safe materials that do not release toxic substances or cause off-odors or tastes in food. Food contact materials must comply with relevant technical regulations, including those specified by the Ministry of Health regarding food packaging and containers.
