U.S. Hazard Communication Standard / U.S. HCS

This standard amends the U.S. Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) 2012 to align with the UN GHS 7th revision and includes some provisions from the UN GHS 8th revision. The amendments to the 2012 version mainly include revisions to certain health and physical hazard classification criteria, updates to labeling requirements, new provisions for labeling small containers, new provisions related to trade secrets, technical revisions related to the content of safety data sheets (SDS), and revisions to the definitions of terms used in the standard. It is applicable to the classification, labeling, and SDS preparation activities for chemicals used in workplaces in the United States.
