This act specifies the regulations concerning the use of PFAS in certain products in the state of Connecticut, including prohibiting the manufacture, sale, offering for sale, or distribution of certain products containing intentionally added Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) within the state. It also requires manufacturers to notify the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) prior to selling products with intentionally added PFAS and to label such products. Additionally, the act establishes a PFAS testing account to provide grants or reimbursements to municipalities and school districts for testing and remediating PFAS contamination in drinking water and for implementing the provisions of this act.
