This regulation specifies the use of bisphenol A (BPA) and other bisphenols and bisphenol derivatives in materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. It includes topics and scope, definitions, prohibition of BPA use, prohibition of hazardous bisphenols and bisphenol derivatives other than BPA, and amendments to (EU) No 10/2011 and repeal of (EU) No 2018/213. It is applicable to adhesives, rubbers, ion-exchange resins, plastics, printing inks, silicones, varnishes, and coatings intended for food contact.
