The Swiss ChemO is largely aligned with the EU REACH and CLP regulations. This Ordinance stipulates provisions regarding general provisions, requirements for placing on the market, notification and declaration of new substances, rules for handling substances, preparations and articles, data processing, and fees. It is applicable to biocidal products and their active substances, and plant protection products and their active substances and co-formulants; applicable to radioactive substances and preparations, but excluding the effects arising from the radioactivity of these substances and preparations; only Articles 5-7 and 81 are applicable to cosmetics, and only in relation to environmental protection and classification or assessment related to environmental risks. Note: The original version of this Ordinance was issued on June 5, 2015, and came into effect on July 1, 2015. This version is a revision amended according to AS 2025 506, effective from September 1, 2025.
