n-Butyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Order, 2021

This ordinance stipulates that n-butyl acrylate must comply with the requirements of Indian Standard IS 14709:1999, “n-Butyl Acrylate—Specifications.” Key requirements include mandatory BIS certification, applicable certification schemes, export exemptions, and the scope of the standard. It applies to all manufacturers and importers who manufacture, import, sell, or distribute n-butyl acrylate within India. Note: This ordinance was originally scheduled to take effect on June 22, 2022, but was subsequently amended to postpone implementation to December 22, 2022. It was then amended a second time to postpone implementation to June 22, 2023, and a third amendment further postponed implementation to December 22, 2023. On April 10, 2026, a temporary suspension order was issued, suspending the mandatory certification requirements until July 10, 2026, and subsequently extended to July 31, 2026.
