China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., commonly referred to as China Railway or CRG, is a centrally-administered state-owned enterprise responsible for passenger and freight railway transportation services in the People's Republic of China. It is a wholly state-owned company established in accordance with the "Company Law of the People's Republic of China," with the Ministry of Finance representing the State Council in fulfilling the duties of the investor. China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. was established on June 18, 2019, succeeding the former Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China and China Railway Corporation. The National Railway Administration currently oversees the company's industry regulation in accordance with the law. As of 2022, the railway mileage under the jurisdiction of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. exceeded 140,000 kilometers, with a workforce of over 2 million employees.
