Department of Ecology and Environment of Fujian Province

The Department of Ecology and Environment of Fujian Province is a component of the Fujian Provincial Government. It was established in 2018 through the integration of the following responsibilities: The duties of the former Provincial Environmental Protection Department; the responsibilities for climate change response and emission reduction from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission; the supervision of groundwater pollution prevention from the Provincial Department of Natural Resources; the responsibilities for water function zoning, sewage outlet management, and basin water environmental protection from the Provincial Department of Water Resources; the supervision and guidance of agricultural non-point source pollution control from the Provincial Department of Agriculture; the marine environment and fishery water ecological protection responsibilities from the Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries.
