This standard specifies the method for determining the water content in petroleum products using the distillation method. It is applicable to petroleum products, tar, and their derived products, with a water content determination range of no more than 25%. This standard can determine water content exceeding 25%, but its precision has not been evaluated. If there are volatile water-soluble substances in the sample, they will be measured as water.
