This standard specifies the flask method for determining the hydrosolubility of chemical products for industrial use (hereinafter referred to as products). It is applicable to basic pure substances with good stability in water and high solubility (greater than 10-2g/L) but not applicable to impure products (e.g., certain surfactants), unstable products, and products that are unstable in water, as the presence of impurities in the tested substances will greatly affect the determination of their water solubility. It is also not applicable to basic pure substances with good stability in water but low solubility (less than 10-2g/L).
