This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, labeling, and information to be provided by manufacturers for protective clothing against particles. It is applicable to protective clothing designed to reduce harm from hazardous particles (such as inherently harmful particles or those that adsorb other harmful substances). It is not applicable to protective clothing designed for volatile or permeable toxic gases, liquids, or chemical particles, nor for protection against liquid sprays, splashes, limited liquid spray, ionizing radiation, or protective clothing used in medical diagnostics and treatment.
