China Solicits Public Feedback on New Draft Law for Hazardous Chemical Safety

On December 25, 2024, the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China began soliciting public opinions online for seven draft laws, including the "People's Republic of China Law on the Safety of Hazardous Chemicals (Draft)." The deadline for submitting opinions is January 23, 2025.

Those who wish to submit opinions can log in to the National People's Congress website (www.npc.gov.cn) or the National Database of Laws and Regulations (flk.npc.gov.cn). Opinions can also be mailed to the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (No. 1 West Da Jie, Qianmen West, Xicheng District, Beijing, postal code: 100805. Please indicate "XX Law Draft Comments" on the envelope).

Main Content of the "People's Republic of China Law on the Safety of Hazardous Chemicals (Draft)":

This draft law stipulates the planning, production and storage safety, usage safety, business safety, transportation safety, registration of hazardous chemicals, and emergency response to accidents, as well as legal responsibilities. It applies to the safety management of the production, storage, use, business, and transportation of hazardous chemicals.
